He and fiancée, Australian Ballet dancer Dana Stephensen welcomed twin girls, sharing the news on social media Friday evening.
“Oh Lulu and Lottie, your mummy and daddy love you with all we have — you are both so beautiful — and I would love to sing to you both forever,” Gillespie wrote next to a photo of the four of them posted to Instagram.
Gillespie’s ex-wife and fellow band mate Emma Watkins commented on the post with two purple loveheart emojis.
“Welcome to the world!” The Wiggles’ official account commented.
Stephensen also has a son, Jasper from a previous relationship.
The couple announced their engagement to fans in April, after Stephensen proposed to Gillespie in their home on what would have been his four-year wedding anniversary to Watkins.
“On Thursday night, Dana asked me to marry her at home under a fairy light sky and a very excited little boy in a beautiful bow tie,” Gillespie wrote on Instagram on April 13.
Gillespie, 34 — who announced his engagement to Stephensen on Instagram — married ex-wife Watkins, 30, on April 9, 2016 after they met during auditions for children’s program Dorothy the Dinosaur in 2012.
Shortly after the engagement announcement, an eagle-eyed fan noted that the proposal occurred on the same date that Gillespie tied the knot with Watkins four years ago.
“I find it a bit strange she asked him on the date that was his wedding anniversary,” the user commented.
However, Stephensen followed the announcement with her own Instagram post on how Gillespie was actually the first to pop “the special question”, but she also wanted the opportunity to do so.
Gillespie and Stephensen met in recent years when The Australian Ballet began recording a DVD with The Wiggles.
Gillespie and Watkins announced their split in August 2018 after two years of marriage.
Despite breaking up, the pair remain close friends and continue to work alongside each other on the hit children’s show.
And there’s set to be more Wiggles babies shortly with news Red Wiggle Simon Pryce and wife Lauren Hannaford are expecting their first baby.
